13001 NPN Transistor, TO-92

The 13001 is a common NPN bipolar junction transistor built for general-purpose switching tasks, particularly where higher voltage tolerance is required. As an NPN device, the collector and emitter remain open with no base signal, and begin conducting once the base receives sufficient voltage, putting the transistor into its saturation region.

With a current gain ranging from 40 to 80 – determining how much the transistor can amplify – the 13001 can carry a continuous collector current of 100mA while withstanding collector-to-emitter and collector-to-base voltages of up to 400V each. Biasing it into saturation requires around 7V at the base pin.
