2N3906 PNP General Purpose Transistor

The 2N3906 is a general-purpose PNP transistor that complements NPN types like the 2N3904, operating in saturation when the base sits at ground potential and switching off conduction once voltage is applied. This behaviour makes it especially useful in high-side switching and inverter circuits where a PNP device is the natural fit.

With a gain of 110 to 300 and a maximum collector current of 200mA, it handles small to moderate switching loads reliably, similar in role to the BC557 but with a higher collector-to-emitter voltage rating.
