Reed Switch Sensor Module

The Reed Switch Sensor Module offers a simple, reliable way to detect the presence of a magnetic field, functioning purely as a switch rather than a graduated measuring device like a Hall Effect or KY-035 sensor. At its core sits a glass-enclosed reed switch filled with inert gas, containing two ferrous elastic reeds that snap together to close the circuit whenever a magnet is brought nearby, and spring back open once it moves away.

Because the switching action is entirely mechanical-magnetic, this module is well suited to applications like washing machine lid detection, automatic door-opening systems, and electromagnetic relay circuits where a clean binary trigger is all that’s needed. Interfacing it with a microcontroller is straightforward: connect the digital output pin to a digital input on your board, and VCC/GND to the corresponding 5V and ground pins.
