Rain Drop Sensor Module

The Rain Drop Sensor Module detects the presence and intensity of rainfall using a two-part design: an exposed rain-detection board and a separate control/comparator module. Together they compare the analog resistance change on the detection plate against a set threshold and convert it into a clean digital signal, making rainfall detection simple to add to any microcontroller project.

Powered at 5V, the module provides both a digital output pin, which stays high when the plate is dry and goes low once a slight amount of water is detected, and an analog output pin that reports a voltage proportional to the amount of water present. An onboard LED shows the current output status, while a potentiometer lets you fine-tune the sensitivity to match your application, whether that’s triggering windshield wipers, closing an automatic window before a storm, or scheduling irrigation in a smart agriculture setup.
